Local public sector workers and volunteers invited to celebration in Downing Street
Sureena Brackenridge MP joined Jenny, Pooja, and Nikita on the steps of Downing Street as the Prime minister thanked them for their service.
The Prime minister spoke at the event of their plan to “rebuild Britain” in the Downing Street Garde, while meeting representatives from the public sector, including police, the ambulance service, and the NHS.

Sureena Brackenridge MP said: “It is vital that we recognise the service that our public sector workers give us as a nation, whether that be the NHS, the Police, the Fire Service, or so many other bodies, so often they put themselves in harm’s way so that we can be safe”

“Bringing Jenny, Pooja and Nikita to Downing Street was such an honour for me, as they truly are the very best of Wolverhampton, and being able to share that with the PM is the very best part of my job”
Jenny, a Mental Heath Nurse in Wolverhampton who was invited to the event, said: “I was thrilled to visit Number 10 for a reception thanking people working in public services. I am a mental health nurse, and it can be a tiring, thankless job. I never imagined that I might be invited to Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister for my work. It’s just doing my job!”

Sureena Brackenridge and the Prime Minister were also joined by other community leaders, activists, and volunteers from around the country, including Pooja and Nikita Kanda, mother and sister of Ronan Kanda, who have campaigned tirelessly for Ronan’s Law.
