International round-up: West Brom pair secure World Cup play-off in dramatic style
The final whistle blew at the Puskas Arena and West Brom midfielder Jayson Molumby was quick to swamp Republic of Ireland's newly-crowned national hero.
Troy Parrott, who had also scored both goals in a remarkable 2-0 win over Portugal three nights earlier, wrote another legendary chapter with his match-winning treble against Hungary on Sunday.
Ireland trailed twice and were on the cusp of missing out on World Cup qualification when both teams remained locked at two apiece heading into the dying embers.
Parrott had cancelled out goals from Daniel Lukacs and Barnabas Varga with a pair of equalisers, but only victory would be enough to jump into a play-off spot.
Hungary occupied second-place right until the very last few seconds when Parrott escaped his marker to prod home on the half-volley.
That prompted passionate and euphoric celebrations, as the Irish dressed in their traditional green, leapt to their feet in an explosion of joy across the Budapest night.

This was only the beginning of the celebrations. At full-time, Molumby was reduced to tears, as he and fellow Albion teammate Mikey Johnston absorbed every emotion.
