The 26-year-old, who joined Walsall from Bolton Wanderers in 2022, scored seven goals and set-up seven more in 139 appearances.

Gordon has penned a two-year deal with the Valiants following the expiration of his contract with Walsall.

Walsall had announced that talks had been ongoing with the Guyana international last month, but he has decided to opt for pastures new.

Last season, Gordon made 54 appearances for the Saddlers in all competitions, scoring four goals and contributing a single assist.

He featured in all but two league games, as Walsall finished fourth-place in League Two, before starring in all three play-off games, including the 1-0 defeat against AFC Wimbledon in the final.

On his signing, Vale boss Darren Moore said: “Liam is an exciting player who fits the profile of what we’re looking for here at Vale Park and we’re delighted that he’s joining us.

"He's a good man and character who has wonderful qualities to his game. He arrives with prior experience at this level, as well as on the international stage, so will add real quality to the group. We’re all looking forward to welcoming him in."
