Glynis Penny-Ram, who opened Penny's Café in Penn Road, Wolverhampton in 2008, had her last day of running the business on Friday, November 3, and is now going to have a "well-earned break."

The business was taken over by new ownership in March, but the new owners had asked her to stay on as herself and her staff, who have been there for many years, are much loved by customers.

Glynis, 64, from Newbridge, Wolverhampton, said: "I used to work in vehicle hire business for 30 years, where I had got to sales manager and then the next step-up was national manager, but I didn't want to do all the travelling around the country, and then my husband said to me that I should open my own business, and I always have treated everything like my own.
