Motorists on the M6 and M54 in Staffordshire and Walsall are facing 45-minute delays due to over running roadworks

Motorists travelling on the M6 are facing 45-minute delays due to over running overnight roadworks in Staffordshire and Walsall.

The roadworks were on the southbound carriageway between Gailey in Staffordshire at junction 12  and Walsall at junction 10.

National Highways Midlands West Midlands said the lanes are fully open after the work overran the 6am target.

The agency posted on X: "The overnight works on the #M6 J12 - J10 south will overrun their agreed end time of 6am. This also includes the #M54 eastbound to the M6 south link arm. Contractors expect a 45 minute overrun."
