Man due in court over alleged thefts from pensioners in Dudley and Wolverhampton
A man was set to appear in court this morning (Tuesday) accused of stealing thousands of pounds from elderly victims in Dudley and Wolverhampton.
He was spotted in a bank in Castle Street, Dudley by a member of the public yesterday afternoon (Monday) who had hear an appeal and arrested after police responded to the alert.
Cornel Birzoi, aged 53, from Lloyd Street, Whitmore Reans was due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today after being charged with offences of fraud by false representation and theft from a motor vehicle.

Officers made an arrest yesterday afternoon (Monday November 17) after quickly responding to a call from an eagle-eyed member of the public who’d seen a recent appeal and believed they had seen a man matching the description in a bank on Castle Street.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "A 53-year-old man was brought into custody for questioning in relation to offences of fraud and theft,
"They related to an incident where a 90-year-old man had £3k taken from his car in Stone Street on October 20 and a separate one where a 76-year-old man had his card stolen after visiting a bank in Wolverhampton in April last year, which was then used to withdraw cash.
