Watch: Extensive damage caused to property in Dudley after early morning fire
Three turtles, a hamster and a dog were safely rescued from a house fire in Dudley which caused extensive damage this morning (Sunday).
Twelve firefighters from Dudley, Bilston and Tipton and three fire engines attended the scene, at Mayfield Road, off Priory Road at around 6.30am.

They were on the scene most of the morning damping down and making the property safe whilst officers from Dudley Council also attended.
The family in the property affected were being looked after by neighbours and one of them, who didn't want to be named said they were thankful to be able to save the animals but it wasn't known when they would be able to return to their home.

Sonala Arjum, who lives next door, where the fire almost spread to after starting at the back of the property said she had lost a laptop but other than that her family were fine.

She said: "I woke up with the smell of burning or smoke around 5am but went back to sleep, then around 6am I heard people shouting and screaming so I did get up but firefighters were already on the scene
"It looks a bit of mess outside in the garden and my laptop, which was near to the patio door was ruined by smoke and heat but everyone is ok which is the main thing of course."
Fire crews are still on the scene carrying out investigation work and are expected to remain their until at least midday.
