Two litterers fined for dumping takeaway rubbish in Walsall
Two men have been handed fines after dumping takeaway rubbish in Walsall.
Walsall Council prosecuted the pair who separately littered on Pelsall High Street.
Mitchell Hedges, of Goscote Lane, Pelsall, was caught depositing takeaway litter from a car onto the street on January 13.

Magistrates addressed the case in Birmingham court on May 21 and Hedges was fined £40 for the offence, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £16, and associated costs of £180, bringing the total fine to £236.
Separately, Christian Orton of Station Road, Derby, also deposited takeaway food packaging out of a car onto Pelsall High Street.

He was caught littering at this location on two occasions, with the first being on July 22, 2024, and the second five days later on July 28, 2024, Walsall Council said.
During a hearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court on May 28, Orton was fined £440 for the two littering offences.
He was also charged a £176 victim surcharge and £418.44 in other costs, bringing the total amount to £1,034.44.
Councillor Adam Hicken, Walsall Council's portfolio holder for children’s and safer communities, said: “It's disheartening to witness such blatant disregard for our local communities. We should all take pride in our towns and high streets.
“Pelsall High Street is equipped with numerous public litter bins, leaving no excuse for this behaviour.
“I commend our community protection team for their diligence in prosecuting these individuals for their careless actions. Those who treat our borough like a dumping ground will face consequences."
