Man charged in connection with burglary at Birmingham house

A man has been charged in connection with a burglary at a house in Birmingham.

Officers from West Midlands Police responded to reports of a burglary in place on Hagley Road in the early hours of Thursday morning and swiftly arrested a 41-year-old man.

The force confirmed that Terry Garner had since been charged with attempted burglary and was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday, although no details of his appearance are currently available.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been charged in connection with a burglary in Birmingham.

"Our Op Skybridge team responded to a burglary in progress in Hagley Road on Thursday morning within minutes of the call at 1am.

"And after swiftly attending the property, a 41-year-old man was arrested.

"Terry Garner has now been charged with attempted burglary.

"The 41-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today.

"Op Skybridge officers continue to carry out proactive enforcement across Birmingham, where they target offenders and disrupt crime."
