Furry friends from Qatar will be the purrfect attraction at Wolverhampton’s first cafe for cat lovers
Animal lovers will feel like they're the cat's whiskers with the opening of a brand new petting cafe in Wolverhampton.
The Qattery Cafe & Cats in Victoria Street will be the city centre's first cat cafe when it welcomes 19 furry friends which were rescued in Qatar.
The sanctuary has so far only opened its doors to two-legged friends and customers at the premises formerly known as Cafe Royal while work is being carried out on the special pets' space.
A total of 16 of the star attractions will move in by the end of the month when the petting floor area is opened to the public.
The felines were rescued when the new operators were living in the Middle East country and they came up with the idea to open the cafe back home after rather than leaving the cats behind for long periods.

The Qattery explained that the animals were a part of a trap neuter and release program where they were are fed and treated to prevent the growth of the large cat colonies in the streets of Qatar.
The rescue team posted: "Instead of leaving our rescues behind we chose to bring them home with us. So far 16 have successfully travelled 4,500 miles while an additional three are awaiting clearance before they can join the rest of the group.
"The concept for the cafe emerged from a desire to create a sanctuary for the cats. Initially, the plan involved leaving the cats for extended periods while working to support the sanctuary. However, upon discovering a charming little business for sale, the idea of establishing a cat cafe took shape. This new venture would allow for the opportunity to work while spending quality time with the cats."
