Situated next to the Cannock college campus, the Bowling club’s historic green — established in the 1700s — has welcomed many notable figures over the centuries, including His Majesty King Charles III. Today, it continues to serve as a vibrant community hub where tradition meets opportunity.

As part of their programme, learners begin each session with grounds maintenance tasks such as litter picking, raking, clearing gulley’s, and removing dew or excess water from the green. Once the surface is ready, CGBC members guide them through the techniques and etiquette of crown green bowls, a sport known for its accessibility and enjoyment for all ages and abilities.

To celebrate the learners’ progress and commitment, a special tournament and awards presentation was held on Monday, 16 June. The event included a friendly competition on the green, followed by a presentation ceremony.
