Morro Partnerships supports children through volunteering at charity’s toy drive
A West Midlands developer has supported children across the region to receive gifts this Christmas through its support for a Birmingham charity’s toy drive.
Four employees at Morro Partnerships, which has over 10 active affordable housing developments in the area volunteered at Birmingham City Mission earlier this month, wrapping festive gifts for those who may otherwise have not been given presents.
This was the second successive year that Morro had helped with gift-wrapping at the Birmingham Toylink Appeal, with the developer also providing a donation of gifts to the charity.
Organised by Birmingham City Mission, the Toylink Appeal helps to distribute gifts to thousands of children in the West Midlands whose families are struggling to make ends meet, relying on the generosity and compassion for those who are less fortunate.
Morro employees, including Abdul Mozzamdar, Kerry Morris, Ben Shannon, and Angela Rushbrook, supplied and wrapped a variety of gifts catering for children aged 18 and under, including board games, books, cuddly toys, and much more.
Neil Sheldon of Birmingham City Mission, said: “We’d like to sincerely thank the volunteers from Morro Partnerships for taking time out of their busy schedules to act in the interests of those who are vulnerable in our region.
“This generous donation will contribute towards the thousands of children we support this Christmas, who may otherwise have not received a gift.”
The initiative aligns with Morro’s commitment to be better community makers and leave a legacy at its developments extending beyond the building of affordable, energy-efficient homes.
Matt Moore, CEO at Morro Partnerships, said: “We were delighted to support this incredibly important cause for the second year running, and to spend time making a real difference to the Birmingham community. To be able to support initiatives like this and bring a smile to so many children on Christmas Day is amazing.
“We pride ourselves on being better community makers, and we look forward to supporting the Birmingham City Mission Christmas Toy Appeal again next year.”
