Police swooped on the black VW Passat and 'dealt with' the driver, who had his phone in a cradle.

Officers from Warwickshire Police's Operational Patrol Unit spotted the driver on the M6 on Sunday .

The unit tweeted: "This driver stopped and dealt with for driving whilst watching a film on the M6 this morning.

"Phone was in a cradle but still not allowed."

It comes only months after West Midlands Police launched Operation Top Deck to tackle drivers on their phones.

Police aimed to capture drivers texting at the wheel, using the vantage point of a double-decker bus.

The buses, from National Express, were driven by officers – with plain clothes police officers equipped with video cameras as passengers.
