Video: Albion open to offers for goal-shy strikers

Albion have effectively put Victor Anichebe and Brown Ideye up for sale as Tony Pulis looks to press ahead with his summer squad overhaul.

The Baggies boss admits the pair are available for transfer after the arrival of Rickie Lambert and new £12m record signing Salomon Rondon in the last fortnight.

But the club face a potential financial hit if they want to offload one or both of the strikers to free up room on the Hawthorns wage bill.

"People will look at Victor and Browny and think they have to move on, but they have wanted to play more regular football anyway," said Pulis. "Bringing Salomon in, does it hasten their move from the club? We'll have to wait and see."

The most likely scenario would see one of Anichebe and Ideye depart with the other remaining, for the time being at least, to provide back-up for Lambert, Rondon and Saido Berahino.

Albion might still add another striker to their ranks if an attractive deal becomes available but it is understood other positions are currently a priority.

Pulis still wants at least one more defender with Tottenham centre-back Federico Fazio one of those being considered, and he has not ruled out adding a central midfielder as well.

He still wants another option out wide, with long-standing targets Matt Phillips of QPR and Nottingham Forest's Michail Antonio still on his radar.

And he will press ahead with plans to signing Cardiff goalkeeper David Marshall if his budget allows, with England man Ben Foster not due back from a long-term injury lay-off until October at the earliest.
