Nike’s Russell Westbrook cartoon is the real MVP

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook became only the second man in NBA history to average a triple double for an entire season, so his selection for 2016/17 MVP was no huge surprise.
A triple double is completed when a player scores a double digit number in three of five statistical measurements: points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
The 28-year-old point guard also broke the record for number of triple doubles with 42, and recorded the highest scoring TD of all time with 57 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists against Orlando Magic.

Catchy, right? Westbrook’s number is zero for anybody who missed it.
Westbrook’s team could only manage sixth in the Western Conference last season, knocked out by the Houston Rockets in the first round of the play-offs.
But while that seems a disappointing return for an MVP, he did receive acclaim from five-time MVP and legend of the game Michael Jordan.
