What the papers say

Arsenal and Tottenham could be ready to target Manchester United’s Eric Bailly come the January transfer widow, the Mirror reports. The Ivory Coast defender may be heading for the exit door at Old Trafford after finding himself on the substitutes’ bench of late, with the London rivals watchful of his next move, the paper says.

Paris St-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot looks to be in high demand, the Express says, with Manchester City, Tottenham, Barcelona and Juventus all said to be interested in the 23-year-old. The midfielder is in the final year of his contract in Paris, putting the clubs on alert to a possible free transfer next year.

Mesut Ozil could be in line to team up with former manager Jose Mourinho at Manchester United in January, the Express claims. Having won LaLiga during their time at Real Madrid, the Manchester United boss is said to be keen on a bid for the Arsenal midfielder as he looks to overcome a disappointing summer transfer window.

Italian under-21 international Nicolo Barella is being linked with a move to Liverpool, according to the Metro. It comes as Jurgen Kopp looks to bolster his midfield prospects after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain picked up a long-term knee injury in April, but reports suggest the Reds boss may have to be prepared to battle against Tottenham, who are also said to be interested in the 21-year-old.

Lionel Messi: While Inter Miami’s debut season is two years away, David Beckham is already looking for potential signings, with the Barcelona star said to be top of the list. The Sun says the former England captain is hopeful of persuading Messi to join the MLS in 2020, when he will be 33 and near the end of his contract at the Nou Camp.

Aleksandar Mitrovic: The 24-year-old’s impressive start to the 2018 campaign with Fulham has not gone unnoticed, the Mirror reports. With four goals in five club appearances this season, Chelsea are said to be keeping tabs on the striker ahead of a potential swoop in January.
