Defiant Wolverhampton Wolves have it all to do in Swindon

Wolverhampton boss Peter Adams insists ‘it’s only half-time’ ahead of tonight’s Premiership play-off semi-final decider in Swindon (7.30pm).

Parrys International Wolves went down 49-39 at Monmore Green last night on a disappointing night in tough conditions.

“We recovered fairly well after a difficult start but we let them get away from us in the end,” Adams admitted.

“Take nothing away from Swindon and credit to them because they not only gated very well, but they also rode very well, particularly late on. Of course we’re disappointed to lose our home leg, but it’s only half-time and there’s still 15 races of this tie remaining.”

It’s almost a case of having nothing to lose and everything to gain for the Parrys International Wolves, who will be written off by the majority, with Swindon now major favourites to progress and meet Ipswich in next week’s Grand Final.

But Adams’ side should take the positives from their previous trip to Wiltshire. They may have ended up on the wrong end of a 46-44 scoreline – but they had led the meeting from heats one to 14.

Both teams are at full strength as Wolves target a quick start to pile the pressure on the Robins.
