Max Clegg wants fans to spur Cradley Heathens on

Captain Max Clegg has called on Cradley’s supporters to turn out in force for tonight’s crunch home clash with Kent (7.30pm).

It’s the final National League fixture of the season for the Anchor Logistics Heathens – and it promises to be a nail-biting contest against a high-flying Kent side.

Cradley reignited their play-off hopes with a brilliant 49-40 win at Plymouth on Friday and know that one final home win would put huge pressure on their rivals.

And Clegg says the Heathens’ faithful have got an important role to play on Monday.

“The Cradley fans have been brilliant with us all year again and we need them behind us against Kent,” Clegg said. “Hopefully we’ll get a massive crowd and hopefully they’ll make a lot of noise for the boys and it does spur us on even more.

“We know Kent won’t be easy because they’ve got some really good riders.

“But we’re buzzing after Friday as a team and hopefully we can get one more win which will hopefully put us in the play-offs.”

Heathens duo Danny Halsey and Luke Harris will make late fitness decisions following crashes earlier in the week.

Kent include British under-19 Champion and Cradley’s 2018 rider of the year Drew Kemp alongside fellow former Heathen Jordan Jenkins and talented youngsters Anders Rowe and Dan Gilkes.

CRADLEY: Max Clegg, Danny Halsey (if fit), Luke Harris (if fit), Tom Spencer, Jack Smith, Harry McGurk, James Chattin.

KENT: Drew Kemp, Alex Spooner, Jordan Jenkins, Dan Gilkes, Anders Rowe, David Wallinger, Jake Mulford.
