Cradley Heath sign league champion Tom Brennan

The Eastbourne youngster, just back from a racing trip to Oz, was snapped up by the Heathens this week for the National League after the Eagles moved up into the Championship.

Brennan, 17, links up with the Heathens as he is determined to have another successful season in the bottom tier.

He joins Max Clegg, Danny Halsey and Harry McGurk in the side with more signings to to follow soon.

Brennan said: “Cradley are a very famous name and I’m really happy to have made this move. They have a great tradition of bringing on great riders.

“It was very important for me to stay in the National League for one more year. I want to use it as a yardstick for the progress I am making.

“Ideally I’d want a year which I can really dominate at that level. Cradley are great club with a great management so I’m delighted to make the switch.

“Obviously as soon as Eastbourne were confirmed as going into the Championship I wanted to get that sorted in the NL.

“I’ve ridden Monmore Green a couple of times but not much. It’s a place I will want to get to grips with, experience at this stage of my career is obviously everything. I don’t think the track is too different from Eastbourne in some ways. It can be tricky and I will find the lines to work.

“I’ve not got any expectations. I will go into the 2019 season just focused on being consistent and making another jump up in progress.

“Don’t get me wrong, it would be great to win more trophies. Getting the double with Eastbourne was so special for everyone at the club. I’d love to help Cradley do the same or at least pick up some silverware.”
