Wolverhampton Wolves list Mark Riss as guest

Wolverhampton have booked 2017 team member Mark Riss as a guest for tonight’s Premiership home clash with Somerset at Monmore Green (7.30pm).

The German comes in at reserve for Cameron Heeps, who is sidelined for nine days after suffering concussion while on Championship duty for Ipswich on Thursday.

The Parrys International Wolves are currently one place behind Somerset in the league table and know another home win would see them leapfrog their opponents into second place.

But Wolverhampton promoter Chris Van Straaten is expecting a tough contest against a Somerset side who include reigning world champion Jason Doyle as well as recent recruits Nico Covatti and Aaron Summers.

“Somerset have moved very cleverly in the transfer market and I think it makes them a lot more solid,” Van Straaten said.

“They’ve got strength in depth and I’m expecting them to be much tougher opposition this time around than when we beat them back in May.

“Jason Doyle is in much better form of late than he was earlier in the year and it should be an exciting match-up.

“We’re delighted to have Mark back in the team for one meeting; he proved to be quite a popular figure after we brought him in part way through last season. Mark’s knowledge of the track could prove vital in a clash against a much-changed Somerset side to the one we beat earlier in the season.”
