The 31-year-old has been suffering with illness for the past few weeks and after seeking medical advice, has now been signed off from racing until further notice.

It leaves the Motor Market Heathens scrambling around for a late guest replacement for yet another away fixture which will again see them track a severely depleted team.

Club chairman Nigel Pearson explained: “The news came as a bitter blow and it means our nightmare run of luck continues.

“But that’s irrelevant in a situation like this and I hope our fans will agree. It is a very difficult time for Danny right now and while it is not our position to go into detail, he has been ruled out of racing by a professional on medical grounds.

“I’m sure everyone will join myself and the rest of the management in sending Danny our very best wishes and we really do hope he gets over his illness sooner rather than later.”
