A youthful team eased past 2015 winners Willenhall 45-12 in the quarter-finals at the County Ground on Saturday thanks to two tries apiece from Angus Hamplett and Ollie Greensill.

Bouncing back from a 14-0 defeat in the league, Stafford scored the first try of the afternoon when quick hands released Will Turner to crash through the opposition.

The restart had hardly landed before the Stafford backs were on the charge again, and Ollie Leigh's final pass released Hamphlett for his first score.

Callum Hoy then sprinted almost the entire length of the pitch for one of the tries of the game.

Willenhall puled one try back before Hamphlett added his second to lead 26-5 at half-time.

After the break, Greensill scored his debut try for the first team before Willenhall responded with a score of their own.

But momentum switched back to the hosts, and Leigh quickly added another before Greensill grabbed his second.

It sets up a semi-final with Cannock, who are third in Midlands 3 West (North). Neither side has ever won the Intermediate Cup and Stafford haven't won a County Cup since 1989.

Holders Newcastle take on Burntwood in the other semi-final.
