Tough opening day for modern pentathlete Charlie Brown
Kidderminster’s Charlie Brown described a “dream come true” as he made his Olympic modern pentathlon.
But the 21-year-old also conceded it had been a “tough day at the office” after both he and GB’s reigning Olympic champion Joe Choong struggled in the fencing ranking round.
Both ended up with 195 points, with Brown placed 27th and Choong, who is also a two-time world champion, in 29th.
