Sandwell edge 14-goal thriller to keep up unbeaten record

Table-toppers Sandwell Athletic maintained their unbeaten tag in the Wolverhampton Sunday League after emerging victorious from a thriller with Pilot.

The Division Two encounter served up 14 goals with Athletic eventually coming out on top 8-6.

Kevin Ward and Ryan Wheeler both netted twice for Athletic with Chris Clarke, Daniel Humphries, Daryl Westwood and Ivan Jones joining them on the scoresheet.

Pilot replied through Harry Charlesworth (two), Aaron Brown, Oscar Charlesworth, Jack Benton and an own goal.

Ryans Rhinos were also among the goals, netting five with out reply at Bradmore Social.

Rhys Slyde (two), Craig Radnor, Lee Warner and Alex Banks found the net.

A double from Ashley Brown and a single strike from Kurtis Samuels saw Coven Athletic Santos to a 3-1 triumph against Punjab United.

Dynamo 50 Stile eased to a 4-0 win over Connaught United thanks to goals from Ryan Mason, Brad Thacker, Dante Hawthorn and Sunny Singh.

Castlecroft and 2-2 KT Rangers drew 2-2 while RG FC went down 3-2 at home to Barley Mow Wanderers.

In Division One, leaders Codsall Legion Sundats edged out Warstones Wanderers Sunday 3-2.

Codsall’s goals came from Jac Corns, Zac Horrobin and Carlo Franco. Ryan Jones and Dimitri Donimes replied.

Strikes from Sam Lawrence and James Colauto, plus an own goal saw Essington WMC to a 3-0 win at Black Country Fusion.

Dudley United were the biggest winners in Division Three, beating Wolverhampton Athletic 5-1.

Ashley Jones led the way with a hat-trick. Josh Wright and Jack Brown added the other goals.

Goals from Jim Giles and Jack Hague saw Tettenhall best Tipton Town 2-1.

Balls to Cancer and Wolverhampton Sports GNST drew 2-2 while AFC Bentlands beat AFC Bradmore 2-0.

A hat-trick from Kieron Miller helped AFC Wolverhampton Olympic overcome Ashmore 4-3.
