Pelsall took advantage of St Johns’ 3-2 reverse at Wednesfield Cons to climb into top spot in the Premier Division on the back of a 5-0 win at struggling Landywood SC A.

Scott Tapper, Chris Jones, Steve Smart, Paul Harrison and Nathan Aston, with a run of 56, hit form as Pelsall moved four points clear.

St Johns were rocked by an impressive fightback by Wednesfield.

Jamie Harris and Jack Harris (38) had put St Johns 2-0 up, but Mitchell Lowbridge, with breaks of 42 and 32, Oliver Spooner (38 and 32) and Terry Hales all hit form to see Cons to victory.

Willenhall Liberal Club saw off Stafford Road A 4-1 at home thanks to Simon Gough, Adrian Rosa, Nathan Wood (37) and Lee Bannister. Daniel Ward, with a break of 42, was Stafford’s only winner.

Relegation battling Aldridge Cons A were next up and they closed to within a point of safety despite losing 3-2 at home against Bloxwich Memorial Club B. Simon Robey and Kieron Doogan picked up their frames win on the night but it wasn’t enough to get the win at Bloxwich took the match win through frame wins for Ricky Sadler, Simon Kelly and Pete Griffiths.

Aldridge Cons B are a point clear at the top of the Division One standings following a 4-1 win at Bentley Moor A.

The match was closer than the score suggests, but Tony Walker, Matthew Caron, Rich Parker and Mark Pearsall saw Cons home. Phil Bush, with a fine break of 51, staved off the whitewash.

Second-placed Poets Corner put some breathing space between themselves and their third-placed opponents, Aldridge Social Club, by beating them 3-2 at home.

Pommy Kang, Dave Blunt and Mark Archer, in the decider, won for the hosts. Ryan Woods and Rob Brown replied.

In Division Two, Old Hall SC B now lead by three points after securing a 4-1 win at home to Rushall Labour B.

Nathan Edwards, Steve Morris and Ben Onions took the first three frames before James Reed got the visitors on the board. Tom Hurst took the final frame to cap a good night for Old Hall.

Second-placed Q Bar slipped up, going down 3-2 away to Stafford Road B despite the best efforts of Lee Dennant, who hit a break of 54 in the opening frame.

Lees win was quickly followed up by Ryan Smith, but the hosts then rallied through Lewis Elwell, Steve Page and Dan Willetts.
