Sean Geddes sure his stars will catch the eye

Sean Geddes is convinced he will face a fight to hold on to some of his Black Country Rangers stars – and it’s a battle he’s eager to take on.

Geddes sure his stars will catch the eye

Geddes’s new-look side have made an impressive start to the West Midlands League Premier Division campaign with two wins and a draw from their opening three fixtures.

That seven-point haul has left Rangers sitting third in the early standings as they prepare for tomorrow’s home clash with AFC Bridgnorth.

And Geddes believes it won’t be long before clubs from further up the non-league pyramid start taking an interest in his players.

“I am happy with the way we have started the season,” said Geddes.

“We have put a new side together and I believe we are only going to get better the more games we play.

“My problem will be keeping some of the players.

“Some of them are better than this level and sooner or later other clubs are going to start sniffing around.

“But I am happy to have that problem. I want my players to improve, kick on and better themselves.

“Hopefully, from a selfish point of view, they will stick with us and we can have a good season.”

One player who has impressed is front-runner Adam Garmson.

He bagged a goal in each half in last Saturday’s impressive 2-0 triumph at Wednesfield.

“Adam is doing really well,” said Geddes. “He has got five goals already playing up top on his own.

“He is a real nuisance for defenders and never gives them a moments peace. He is constantly giving defenders problems.”

Bewdley will be looking to make it four wins from four outings when they host Wednesfield.

Wolves Sporting, who lost to Bewdley last time out, are at home for a third straight league game with Cradley Town the visitors.

Something has to give in Division One when leaders Willenhall Town host another side with a perfect record, Bustleholme.
