Wednesbury Boxing Club’s Brooke Cooper goes hunting for national glory this weekend.

The 13-year-old will take to the ring at the K2 Centre in Crawley on Saturday at the semi-final stage with the final scheduled for the following day.

Having already been crowned Midland champion, Brooke booked her place in the last four with an impressive victory over Yorkshire’s Emily Milner, of Millenium ABC, in the quarter-final in Bridlington, North Yorkshire.

Brooke picked her shots well and landed them accurately throughout the bout against a game opponent.

The victory was a just reward for the hard work Brooke puts in under the guidance of club coaches Vince Bayley, Tony Tobin, Mick Ward and Stuart Grainger.
