Nordley’s awesome foursome

Willenhall Nordley are the pride of the Midlands after being crowned the 4-man Team champions.

The annual four-man tournament ran through autumn and attracted teams from across Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire with Nordley coming out on top on the finals days.

The winning quartet of Scott Simpson, Mark Picknell, Kevin Hocknull and Paul Evans, who also won the most individual wins prize, played in honour of junior member Ryan Hyde, who sadly passed away last year, and wore t-shirts to raise awareness of the Anaphylaxis Campaign.

Nordley overcame Penn B in the last four and then saw off The George by 19-shots in the final to claim the £1,000 top prize.

concluded last weekend and Willenhall Nordley were successful in lifting the trophy and claiming the £1000 prize.

The tournament was run throughout the autumn period and attracted teams from across the different Midlands bowls playing counties and paid out a total of £3000 in prize money.

Nordley claimed the title by defeating The George in the final by 19-shots.

The prize for the highest individual break was won by Scott Harries of Penn who claimed a break of 17 in the opening round. Whilst Paul Evans walked away with the award for most individual victories throughout the tournament.
