Hinks delighted with the Community spirit

Wolves Sporting Community boss Steve Hinks will be looking for further signs of improvement when his side host Loughborough University tomorrow, writes Nick Elwell.

Hinks moved into the Sporting hot-seat earlier this season following the departure of Amo Sandur and has seen his charges pick up four points from the two Midland Premier games he has overseen.

And while he has added a couple of new faces to his squad, Hinks has declared himself delighted with the response from the players who were already there.

“There has been a great response from the players,” said Hinks. “

“I have tweaked a few things and tried to make things a bit tighter at the back because the side were leaking goals.

“I have put a few things in place and added a few players as well but the ones that were already at the club have bought in to what I want to do.

“I have been more than pleased by their reaction. There has been no negativity around the place and no fallings out. I have added a touch of experience by bringing Michael Townsend in and signed some younger players such as Charlie Higgs, who was released by Shrewsbury, and Declan Arber, who is 17 and has got to the last 32 of the England Schoolboy trials.

“We have a nice mix and it’s been a good start, picking up four points from two games.”

Hinks is confident Sporting can maintain their upturn in fortunes and has targeted three points tomorrow.

“Loughborough are a good side but we are looking at this game as a winnable one,” he said.

“There is still a lot of hard work to be done and a lot of things to work on but I am confident we can climb the table.”
