Blakemore and Carrington fire TNT to cup triumph

There was precious little charity on show as an in-form RC TNT outfit hit the goal trail.

RC proved too strong for hosts Littleton Arms as they romped to a 9-1 Charity Cup first round success.

Hat-trick duo Ellis Blakemore and Marc Carrington led the way with Nick Arnold (two) and Luke Bradley also netting.

AFC Cheslyn Hay also breezed through on the back of a 6-1 win at home to Yates Sports with Cameron Osbourne bagging a hat-trick.

In round two of the competition, Miners United needed penalties to edge past Harrison FC.

The tie had finished 3-3 after extra-time. Miners’ tally came via Joe Cartwright (two) and Jack Chatting while Harrison replied through an own goal, Connor Meeham and Shaun Walker.

Ridware Oak dug deep to secure a 3-1 extra-time win at Bridgtown Rangers in the Staffs Challenge Cup.

Tom Wright, Jack Turner and Joe Murphy struck for the away side with Joe Hindley netting for Rangers.
