Rushall to Pic up after break

Rushall Olympic have had a fortnight to prepare as they look to end a seven-match winless run tomorrow (3pm).

Liam McDonald’s side go into a home game against Stratford Town on the back of a draw at Needham Market, which took place two weeks ago.

The Pics will be looking to climb the Southern Central table having taken just one win and seven points from their opening seven matches of the season.

“We’ve used the break to work on a few things and be ready to go again at the weekend,” said McDonald. “The lads put in a good performance at Needham Market despite being sat on a coach of over five hours and only having a 15-minute warm-up.

“It’s the sign of a good side that we are still picking up points despite not quite firing on all cylinders just yet.

“We’ve only lost twice in seven league games so far. It’s been fine margins – this is an honest group of players and we’ll keep plugging away to get to where we want to be.

“We’re just one win away from our fortunes changing. There is probably more expectation on us this year after the run we went on last season, but it’s a tougher, more competitive division.”

Halesowen Town – who are level on points with Rushall, but one place higher because of goal difference – travel to rock-bottom Bedworth United.
