Bushbury Rovers and FC Premier showed no mercy as they inflicted heavy 21-0 and 17-0 defeats on luckless Pensnett Youth and Shere Punjab respectively, as Matthews (Bushbury) and Thorp (FC Premier) fired matching double hat-tricks, writes Dave McLean.

Not far behind in the goal stakes for Bushbury was Reece Bentley with five, supported by Thomas Slade, who netted four times, and doubles from Glynn Osborne, Simon Stokes and Kyle Crutchley.

However, taking the man-of-the-match plaudits from both teams in the Bushbury clash was the tireless Pensnett Youth keeper Jack Wentworth, who saved his side from further embarrassment with several stunning saves.

While Thorp kept up his impressive scoring form this campaign, no fewer than eight of his team-mates were on the mark.

Alex Cashmore plundered a hat-trick Elliot Millward struck twice, while Troy Gardner, Aiden Bowyer, Sam Shaw, Jack Woolridge, Andy Day and Phil Lutwyche all found the net once each.

While FC Premier retained a top-three spot Dynamo Dudley – leaders on goal difference – made it seven wins in eight.

Sandwell Action were their latest victims as Dynamo ran out 8-3 winners.

Ben Hickman fired home a treble, Joe Lawley scored two and Shawn Davenport, Leon Naylor and Kyle Carter added singles.

Three-goal Jason Wood was outstanding for Sandwell and at one stage he cut the Dynamo lead to just one goal, before the Dudley side grabbed four in the final quarter of the match to seal the points.

Black Country Fusion produced some excellent football against second-placed Pensnett Panthers and had Liam Stevens finding the net.

But Pensnett kept up their push for league honours with two goals from Ryan Cartwright and one from Tom Woodall.

Old Cross Athletic extended their unbeaten league run to six games, running out comfortable 8-0 winners at basement side Wyrley Targaryen's.

Nathan Barrett led the victory charge with a hat-trick. Also on the mark were Greg Peniked, James Lunn, Ryan Long, Sam Yeboah and an own goal.

Whitmore Reans kept up their good league form with a 2-1 home triumph over Old Bush, just the tonic ahead of their Birmingham FA Sunday Amateur Cup clash at Warwick Wanderers this coming Sunday.

A brace from Mario Mendes did the trick for Whitmore, who trailed to a Luke Cole first half effort at the break.

Two other teams in county cup action this weekend are Claregate Rangers and Codsall Station and the former returned to winning form with a 6-3 home win, goals from star man Andy Arnold (three), Jon Wilson and super sub Sam Wapshott (two). Chris Amtoszkiewicz, Tom Turner and Liam Davies replied.

Springvale Steelers picked up a third league success, edging home 4-2 against visiting Pendeford as Craig Littlewood netted two, with singles from Steve Falls and Mitch Pinson.
