On the pitch, Wolves summed up their campaign in 90 minutes, while off it some rumblings of discontent will likely result in wholesale changes.

The 1-1 draw with Everton meant little in the grand scheme of things, but it showed the work Wolves must do to have a successful 2023/24 season.

Story of the season

Many of the reasons Wolves were battling relegation this season reared their ugly heads in the clash with Everton.

Context is king and these failings do not all come from a negative place. In fact, Wolves dominated large parts of the game and deserved to win it against a fairly poor Everton side.

But failing to take your chances will always result in a difficult afternoon. Wolves had five shots on target and took the lead, but ultimately paid for not killing the game off, when Everton equalised at the death.
