Ki-Jana Hoever feeling right at home with Wolves

The 18-year-old Dutchman made his first Premier League start against Manchester United in midweek, catching the eye at right-wing-back.

And having made the move from Liverpool in a deal worth up to £13.5million in the summer, he is loving life at Molineux under Nuno Espirito Santo.

“I had a good time at Liverpool but I felt I needed to play more and be more involved,” said Hoever.

“Wolves was one of the teams who wanted me to come and join the first team, so when that chance came I took it, basically.

“I’m young but feel old sometimes as I’ve seen a lot of things for my age.

“For me, it’s just all about learning and hoping that I can play more games here.

“When I got here, I straight away got a good feeling and everyone was very nice to me. I felt part of the squad straight away.

“That was one of the reasons why I made the move, so I’m really happy I got this feeling.

“It’s really nice to be part of this club, a really warm club.

“It already feels like home for me. It’s a privilege to play for Wolves.”

Hoever is one of several young players looking to impress over the coming months for Wolves, who face Brighton this evening.

Rayan Ait-Nouri, Vitinha and Fabio Silva also featured against United, and Hoever feels there is a good balance of youthful exuberance and veteran knowhow in the squad.

“I think there’s a balance in the team between a lot of young players and also a lot of experienced players,” he added.

“We’re all learning every game. I’m learning different things than probably Conor Coady is because he’s a lot more experienced than me, but at the end of the day we’re learning as a team.

“We develop as a team and get better with every day and every game.”
