Steve Bull excited over Wolves' £67m strike pairing

Wolves legend Steve Bull is excited over the potential strike partnership of Raul Jimenez and record signing Fabio Silva as they could ‘really frighten defenders’.

Wolves have shelled out £35million on 18-year-old Silva, surpassing the £32m spent on star man Jimenez last summer.

And 306-goal great Bull cannot wait to see the wonderkid in action for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, especially if he plays alongside the Mexican in attack.

“It’s exciting. I’ve seen some clips of Silva and he looks sharp,” said Bull.

“It’s a lot of money, but he’s just got to come here and do a job now.

“He’ll have to bid his time with how Raul has played, but now Nuno has the option to play two strikers.

“The two of them together could really frighten defenders as well and be a proper force.

"You’ve just had Diogo Jota get off the mark for Portugal and that’s a confidence boost for him, so it’s exciting times.”

Wolves also snapped up Lyon defender Fernando Marcal at the weekend, and Bull added: “We needed a bit more experience, so Marcal is a welcome addition.

“It’s just nice to see a few fresh faces, ultimately. Even I was getting a bit frustrated, but Wolves do things cleverly to be fair to them and once the players are in, it’s brilliant.”
