Wolves' players are on a break until Tuesday, September 1 as they look to recharge ahead of the new Premier League season.

Having travelled back from Germany – following their 1-0 Europa League quarter-final loss to Sevilla – on Wednesday afternoon, they have gone their separate ways for the best part of three weeks.

They should then have 11 days to prepare for the 2020/21 top-flight campaign, which is set to get going on the weekend of Saturday, September 12.

There has been talk of a delay for teams involved in European competitions, as Wolves were, but the September 12 restart would mean Nuno's stars would be in line with the agreed 30-day break period.

What has also been mooted is Wolves and Chelsea lobbying to be drawn against Manchester United and Manchester City – both still in Europe – in the first round of Premier League fixtures and, subsequently, forcing postponements to allow them to begin later.

It is understood Wolves would be happy to start later if offered the opportunity, but they are not expecting that to be the case or set to battle the league for it.

Their 2019/20 campaign lasted 383 days, playing 59 games and taking in 10 different countries along the way.

The full fixture schedule for the new term will be announced no later than Friday, August 21.
