Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is excited to have Morgan Gibbs-White back from injury – and has backed him to shine.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has returned to the fold after being on the sidelines with a back issue since the end of October.

The problem carried on for longer than it was first thought it would, but the Stafford-born academy product is now ‘pain-free’ and still a firm part of Nuno’s plans.

“It’s very good. It’s been a while, but he’s well now,” said Nuno on having Gibbs-White available again.

“He’s not 100 per cent, but he’s well enough to be a part of the squad.

“It was a painful situation. One of the most important things was to relieve the pain – to take the pain away.

“Now he is pain-free, it’s about getting the shape and the physical conditions.

“The talent of Morgan, we know, and I really think he can be very good for us this season.”

Gibbs-White made 10 appearances for Wolves in all competitions this campaign before his back problem.

Nuno has been a big fan of the teenager ever since his arrival at Molineux, and he added: “Morgan was involved – and not only last season, but also in the Championship.

“He was a part and a member of the squad.

“He helped us a lot, having very good games and very good performances.

“He has had a setback this season, but we still have time for him to come back stronger.”

Bruno Jordao is back in training too after an ankle injury.
