The 23-year-old South Korean is reportedly one of the club's prime targets and would cost around £20million.

Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell watched him from the stands as the Austrian champions lost to Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday night, according to The Telegraph.

It is understood a move for Hee-chan is more likely to be made in the summer, but a deal could be pursued in January that would see him loaned back to Salzburg for the rest of the season.

Wolves' top priority for January, though, is a centre-back.
