He scored three and Tsun Dai the other as they dispatched League Two outfit Carlisle United at Brunton Park last night.

Ashley-Seal opened the scoring in the 20th minute, exchanging passes with Austin Samuels before scoring emphatically at the near post.

Hallam Hope brought Carlisle level in the 35th minute, but parity was only restored for five minutes until Tsun Dai drilled home a rocket from 25 yards to restore the visitors’ lead.

However, Carlisle got themselves level again on the stroke of half-time as Ryan Loft broke into the penalty area before scoring past Andreas Sondergaard.

Ashley-Seal put Wolves in front for the third time three minutes into the second half, converting a penalty after being fouled by Carlisle goalkeeper Louis Gray.

And the 20-year-old completed his treble in the 64th minute, steering home a cutback from Oskar Buur, who had latched on to Elliot Watt’s ball down the right-hand side.

Seventy-two hardy Wolves fans made the trip to Carlisle to support the under-21s as part of a total attendance of 893.

And they saw their team join Blackpool on three points at the top of the group – the Tangerines thrashed Morecambe 5-1 earlier this month.
