Wolves 0 Braga 1 – Europa League player ratings

Joe Edwards rates the players as Wolves are beaten 1-0 by Braga in the Europa League.

Published

Rui Patricio

Made a couple of routine saves before he was unable to keep out Ricardo Horta's winner. 6

Ryan Bennett

The ball boys were armed with towels for Bennett's long throws into the box. None of them really troubled Braga, though, and his error – a pass being intercepted by the busy Galeno – led to Horta's goal. 5

Conor Coady

After being given the runaround by Tammy Abraham in the Chelsea loss, Coady was not at his best – but definitely better than he was against the Blues. 6

Willy Boly

Allowed Horta too much space for his strike. As Galeno raced forward, Boly was tracking Horta, but then got sucked inside and lost his man, who finished in style. 5

Matt Doherty

Struggled to make his presence felt going forward while the speedy Galeno went on some marauding runs down his side. 5

Leander Dendoncker

The Belgian had a good chance to score, but was denied by a strong Matheus save. Otherwise, Dendoncker covered plenty of ground, although not with the energy he usually does. 5

Ruben Neves

Got forward a bit more often than he did against Chelsea and Everton. He is still dropping deep too often, though, and getting in the way of Coady, who has previously been the one bringing the ball out of defence. 5

Morgan Gibbs-White

Wolves' best player on the night. While not running the show, the teenager was always looking to make things happen and his stunning through-ball to Cutrone should have resulted in a goal. 7

Jonny Castro Otto

Like Doherty, he did not influence proceedings in terms of attacking. He did seem a bit more solid defensively, though. 6

Raul Jimenez

Jimenez did well to hold the ball up and find Cutrone for a first-half chance, and showed flashes of quality. Looked tired, though. 6

Patrick Cutrone

Could not fault his effort, but the execution was not there. Missed a cracking chance not long before the break. Kept plugging away, though. 6

Subs

Joao Moutinho (for Gibbs-White, 67)

Put himself about and whipped in a few crosses that were dealt with. 6

Diogo Jota (for Dendoncker, 76)

Eager when he came on and had a few decent touches. 6

Adama Traore (for Doherty, 80)

Got hacked down a couple of times on the right. 6

Not used: Ruddy (gk), Saiss, Vinagre, Neto
