Wolves skipper Conor Coady: Let's finish on a high

Captain Conor Coady has demanded Wolves end a landmark campaign with the finish 'it deserves'.

Wolves are eighth in the Premier League table with five games to go.

They can potentially finish seventh and qualify for the Europa League, provided that Manchester City win the FA Cup.

But either way, Coady wants an improvement on Saturday's defeat at Southampton when they welcome Brighton to Molineux this weekend.

"We've got to end the season in the way it deserves," he said. "We're looking at Brighton now, we need to make sure we're ready.

"The target is beating Brighton. Everyone talks about finishing seventh and it'd be fantastic, it really would, but we can only take it a game at a time which is what we've done all season.

"That's what has got us to this point. We'll keep on doing that and see where it takes us.

"The clear goal now is get back on the horse and win next week, it's as simple as that.

"People talk about seventh, eighth, it doesn't really matter for us.

"We look at Brighton. That's the next one, as long as we improve then that's all we want to do."

The Seagulls are 17th in the table – and Wolves' past two league defeats have come against the team occupying 17th at the time, namely Burnley and Southampton.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have struggled against teams at the lower end of the league, also losing twice to Huddersfield.

And Coady said: "We've got to get better (against struggling sides). We've improved no end this season from when we started in the Premier League.

"But we need to look back no these games and see where we're going wrong and try and put it right.

"It's a big week for us and we need to take advantage of it.

"We need to put it right and quick. We'll get back on the training ground and work on it.

"The next game is Brighton and we'll prepare for that. We'll look at where we went wrong and improve as quick as possible."
