Wolves are seventh in the Premier League and on their way to Wembley for an FA Cup semi-final against Watford on Sunday.

Of the other two promoted sides from last season, Fulham spent £100m and have been relegated while Cardiff face an uphill battle to survive.

And Coady said: "I'm just proud in general from what we've done this season.

"You see clubs come into the Premier League and change the way they do things.

"The way we've come up and the way we've gone into the Premier League and carried on doing what we do, I think it's brave."

Wolves have won nine of their past 12 Molineux matches including successive 2-1 wins over Manchester United in the league and the cup.

Coady thinks the home fans have been a key part of their Molineux success.

"We use the crowd and the atmosphere," he said. "It's sensational at Molineux, I think it's the best in the division if I'm honest with you.

"It's tough for any team going there.

"We needed to bounce back from Saturday's defeat to Burnley, it wasn't good enough from our point of view.

"Tuesday was a brilliant night for this football club.

"We struggled to contain them early on but we weathered it, we came through it, we scored a great goal through Diogo (Jota), the way the boys linked up was absolutely fantastic.

"After we scored it was how we wanted to play.

"We said all week we've wanted to enjoy the week, but that meant winning on Tuesday.

"We knew how tough it was going to be but we did that."

Rui Patricio made several crucial saves and captain Coady paid tribute to the Portuguese shot-stopper.

"We've got a world class keeper in goal who made some outstanding saves. We know how good he's been this season but some of the same he made on Tuesday were brilliant.

"I thought in the end we deserved the goals."

The win set Wolves up perfectly for their FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.

Coady said getting distracted ahead of the game wasn't a problem.

"It's tough to get distracted when you've got Man United coming to Molineux.

"We've had loads of people talking about (the semi) before Tuesday! The lads were saying we had a huge game first.

"It's something we're all excited about.

"It's important we go there and do it right, Tuesday was a big boost."
