The 22-year-old has been in fine form in recent weeks and joins Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Rui Patricio in the squad to face Ukraine and Serbia in two Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Jota's Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo said Jota's inclusion was a reward for his recent performances.

"I'm very happy for him that he goes in the national team," Nuno said

"It's a good reward, I hope everything goes well, not only for Diogo but a lot of players are going to be involved in national teams.

"I'm very supportive and happy, it means a lot that our players go to national teams and represent their country.

"I hope everything is ok."
