The 25-year-old skipper is looking for total commitment as they head to Ashton Gate to take on Bristol City on Sunday (1pm).

If Wolves win, they will be in the quarter finals of the competition – one step away from Wembley – and he said: "It's an amazing cup.

"It's an incredible competition and the longer you stay in it, the better it is for everybody.

"It's such an exciting thing for supporters.

"We know they'll follow us to Bristol so we're looking forward to it."

Wolves have got to the fifth round of the Cup by beating Liverpool in the third and Shrewsbury via a replay in the fourth.

City have done so with victories over Huddersfield and Bolton.

Coady and Co have great memories of their last visit to Ashton Gate – winning 2-1 there in December 2017 thanks to Ryan Bennett's stoppage-time header.

That goal sparked a famous celebration from boss Nuno Espirito Santo in the stands after being sent off, and Coady hopes to provide fans with more to shout about at the home of the Robins.

"It's brilliant for us, it really is. Everybody is looking forward to it," said Coady.

"You speak to any one of the boys and it's a big competition for us, one we can't wait to play in.

"Ask any one of the players and they're really looking forward to it, they really are.

"It's a great game for us to go and play and improve, but we've got to prepare for Bristol and what they're going to bring as we know from experience that they can hurt you."

He added: "We know the fans will get behind us, and we've got good memories of Bristol.

"But we need to go there and respect them as a football club as we know how good they can be.

"We'll go there looking to improve and get better, and hopefully come away with the result."
