Is this the real deal? An autograph book featuring signatures ranging from Stan Cullis to Billy Wright has been bought for £110.

The 29-page book, which was sold to raise money for a ferret rescue centre, was snapped up by Fay Rutter on TV's Dickinsons Real Deal.

The signatures range between players from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham FC, West Bromwich Albion, Coventry City, Aston Villa.

Each page in the book features signatures, alongside pictures of the players – and a name, a brief description of them and information including their position and team.

Fay Rutter, a dealer on TV's Dickinsons Real Deal and an avid football fan, said she wanted to buy the piece after seeing the signatures from 'local football legends'.

Fay said: "It's a piece of history. I love any sort of memorabilia and especially anything football-related. I just love it and autographs as well.

"I paid £110 for it. I'm a big football supporter myself. I'm a Walsall season-ticket holder and I do like collecting football memorabilia. They know me on the showroom for buying that kind of stuff so when they come in they try to steer items to dealers.

"I really wanted to buy it.

"From the moment I saw it I knew I had to have it.

"Billy Wright, Stanley Matthews, Stan Culis, Derek Dougan – they were all sort of local football legends."

An episode showing the deal will be shown on TV later this year.

Fay said: "It's not been shown on TV yet.

"It's a part of the new series which starts on January 7 – it'll be sometime later on in the year.

"We were in Stoke-on-Trent and a lady came in with a pram and inside was a ferret and of course the producers are looking for interesting characters and they stopped her.

"She said she was raising money for the ferret rescue centre and she had bought these football signatures along featuring Wolves, West Bromwich and Villa.

"She was a Wolves fan herself.

"We had banter with David Dickinson to buy the book.

"The ferret peed on me and I stank for the rest of the day. I asked David to hold it and he said about working with children and animals – it was entertaining at the time."

Fay said she would keep the piece and put it on display at The Dog House Antiques store she runs in Walsall.

She added: "I'll keep it for now until someone really interested comes in for it.

"It's not in fantastic condition – it's a schoolboy's collection really.

"I'll put it on display at the store."

Fay also bought photographs showing West Bromwich Albion's Ronnie Allen with the FA Cup in a garden in a separate deal.

She added: "That was in Walsall College Hub. The photographs were when West Bromwich played in the FA Cup final in 1954. West Bromwich beat Preston North End 3-2 and the goalscorers were Ronnie Allen and Frank Griffin."
