The midfield maestro helped inspire Wolves to a 3-1 victory over Spurs.

Moutinho set up the first goal with his corner emphatically headed home by Willy Boly.

And he picked up where he left off at Fulham with an impressive performance after replacing Leander Dendoncker from the

bench.

The 32-year-old said: “The key is all the group, all the players who were playing on Saturday and those who didn’t play, the sacrifice – we do it all the week, all these months – we work a lot and that’s the result of our training, our sessions.

“But that’s it. That’s our football.

“We can play it against big teams and small teams, we need to do the same and have the same spirit, and against Tottenham, our spirit came out and we won.”

Wolves were 1-0 down at half-time at Wembley after Harry Kane’s long-range strike.

However, the second half was a different story.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team enjoyed plenty of possession and scored through Boly, Raul Jimenez and Helder Costa, with all three goals coming in the space of just 15 minutes.

It sent their 3,000 travelling fans into ecstasy amid memorable scenes at Wembley.

Moutinho said of the second-half switch: “Tottenham tried to play more, get the ball forward and flowing in the first half.

“We did all the things to change that and we scored three goals, which is an amazing result for us.

“I need to give thanks to the supporters who came to Wembley because they are with us at every game we go to, they are important for us, and it’s a great result for the club, the fans, and we need to continue.”

Wolves have now beaten Spurs and Chelsea, as well as earning draws against Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Nuno’s team now host Crystal Palace tomorrow night looking to cement their place in the top half of the table.

Moutinho added: “It’s good for us and it’s another three points against big teams, teams who are in the running for the title of the Premier League. But we need to continue to win more points, win not only against these big teams, because we want more and we’re training every day for that.”
