It has been 38 years since a Wolves side tasted success at Old Trafford, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s men enter tomorrow’s match on the back of victories over West Ham and Burnley.

Captain Conor Coady and wing-back Matt Doherty are anticipating ‘a special game’, and have vowed to raise their performance level even further.

Coady said: “This will be a special game, not just for me, but for everybody. It is a big ground and it is a big team.

“We have said before the game, every game is tough in this division.

“No matter whether you are playing Manchester United or Burnley, it doesn’t matter, every game is tough. We have set a standard (against Burnley) but we want to keep on raising it. I want us to go there and play our best.

“This club have done well up to now, we have got a lot of improvement to do and I think as long as we listen to the manager and listen to how we go into that game, we should be OK.”

And Doherty said: “We won’t go there with any fear, not with the last three performances that we’ve had. Back-to-back wins in the Premier League is huge, it’s not easy at all, so we go there full of confidence and going for the win.”

Expectations are high among Wolves fans after their start to England’s top flight – and Coady says the players have fully embraced that.

“The fans always expect big things and you have got to play with that, it is as simple as that,” he said.

“The Wolves supporters have been fantastic with us. We love playing at home and to keep them behind us – like they are at the minute – we must keep on playing well. The fans can see we are learning every day.”

And asked how Wolves have adapted to the Premier League, he added: “We all feel comfortable in the football club and how the manager wants us to play and that is the most important thing. We take the Premier League as it comes.”
