The 25-year-old striker has joined the Potters on loan with the club having an 'obligation' to buy him for £12 million in the January transfer window.

His move comes less than two weeks after signing for Wolves in a £10 million deal at the start of June.

And Afobe feels his experience of being part of Wolves' title-winning team will help him at Stoke City in the Championship next season.

Asked if that factor makes him well-equipped to go to Stoke, he said: "Yes I have obviously played in the Championship and I know this league very well, even though I am only 25.

"I think I have still got a lot to offer in my career. First and foremost I want to score goals. Every game I play - whether that is a training game or the cup final - I want to score goals.

"My mentality is never going to change

"I have always been a team player and I want to win games. And I want to be a big part of the success that is going to be at Stoke City for the next few years."

Asked what the main attraction was for joining Stoke from Wolves, Afobe said: "The belief that the manager shown in me. We obviously had a conversation before I signed and he believes in me.

"Any player wants a manager that believes in them.

"I hope I will repay him by scoring goals and helping the team win games but it is a team sport and I will be looking forward to meeting my teammates and hopefully we can have a great season."
