Published

John Ruddy

Another game, another deck chair afternoon for Ruddy – and yet another clean sheet. That’s 24 for the season now. 6/10

Danny Batth

Two appearances and two clean sheets with the skipper back in the side. It’s been a great end to the campaign for Batth who must have wondered if he’d feature again. As at Bolton he didn’t have a huge amount to do defensively but went about his job professionally. 7/10

Conor Coady

A regulation afternoon, the highlight of which was when he sauntered out of defence, won position, strode upfield and fed Costa. 7/10

Willy Boly

Not at his imperious best and gave the ball away too often but as always his defensive work was absolutely sound. 7/10

Matt Doherty

Looked a little lethargic at times which is hardly surprisingly given the miles he's put in this season. 6/10

Romain Saiss

An excellent afternoon for the Moroccan who dominated midfield. Defensively Saiss was on the money, especially when cutting out a pass that would have given an easy chance for Fernando Forestieri. Played a number of probing passes and got forward to good effect in what was an all-action performance. 8/10

Ruben Neves

Oh Ruben! Saved his worst performance for the final Molineux match of the season. Just kept giving the ball away and lacked his usual control. Caught napping in possession a few times too. After the year he's had we can forgive him though. 5/10

Barry Douglas

At the start of the season he had a tendency to struggle defensively on occasion as he adapted to his new position but this match was indicative of the big improvements he's made, especially positionally. 7/10

Helder Costa

The season is ending at the wrong time for Costa who has been consistently good for a number of weeks now. His confidence is there for all to see. Must be an absolute nightmare to play against when he's running full pelt with the ball stuck to his boot. 7/10

Benik Afobe

Looked sharp and lively in the first half, wasted a good opportunity when he rounded the keeper and shot wide. Surprisingly subbed after only 55 minutes. 6/10

Diogo Jota

Some delightful interplay with Costa and he threatened a few rampages. Twice came close to scoring. 7/10

Substitutes

Leo Bonatini (for Afobe, 55)

A lovely through ball to play in Enobakhare but otherwise he was pretty quiet. 6/10

Bright Enobakhare (for Costa, 74)

Missed a glorious opportunity to score on his comeback from injury when he skewed a shot wide. 6/10

Morgan Gibbs-White (for Jota, 87)

No time to make an impact. N/A

Subs not used: Norris, Miranda, Hause, N'Diaye.
