Steve Bruce: Aston Villa won't celebrate like rowdy Wolves

Steve Bruce has vowed there will be no dug-out histrionics should Villa beat Wolves tomorrow – as Nuno Espirito Santo defended his touchline celebrations.

Bruce is thought to have been left unimpressed by the celebrations of rival boss Nuno and his coaching staff during the reverse fixture at Molineux last October.

At the time, Bruce accused Wolves of acting “like they had won the Premier League” after they claimed a 2-0 victory.

Villa will go in search of revenge when they host the long-time Championship leaders in a televised tea-time clash.

And though eager for his team to get one over on the neighbours in order to boost their promotion hopes, Bruce expects his men to keep their feet on the ground should they be victorious.

“I think they (Wolves) are vociferous all the time. That’s their prerogative,” he said.

“We don’t quite behave like that, I wouldn’t have thought my staff would behave like that, but they beat us fairly and squarely and you have to take it on the chin.

“We bear that in mind for this game and let’s hope we’re celebrating and not them.”

Nuno, speaking this afternoon, felt there was no issue with Wolves' celebrations.

"(It's) because we work so much!" he said. "Every goal means a lot to us and requires a lot of work from the boys, we know what it means.

"It means a lot and you have to celebrate. We don't be disrespectful for anybody, we just celebrate because it means a lot.

"It reflects a lot of work, a lot of hours. Everybody should celebrate, the fans, the staff, the players, the moment of greatest joy in football is a goal."
